Hello, my name is David.
I'm a designer and engineer. I love creating things.
I'm a designer and engineer. I love creating things.
Over the lockdown, like many others who could not sit still at home, I was itching to learn something new and create something... anything. With my background in digital design and software engineering, I have spent a good chunk of my life producing things that could only be experienced through a screen, keyboard, and mouse. As a result, I have quietly nurturing a deep desire to create something of physical and tangible significance... something that can be experienced without the use of a digital device.
At the time, commercial grade 3d printers that were capable of producing high fidelity prints, were becoming more available and affordable to the hobbyist/prosumer. After snagging one for myself, I pored over countless hours of online courses and videos to learn how to effectively use various CAD software to design objects that can be then printed and fabricated quickly and efficiently. As I strive for mastery with this process, I am devoted to endless iterations of learning through tuning and verifying: optimizing for product strength, weight, and durability while maintaining and not sacrificing its beauty and aesthetics.
Needless to say I have been greatly enamored of this new found process and ability to design and fabricate a product from start to finish all from the comfort of home.

Both natural and constructed environments serve as endless sources for my creative inspiration.
I am continually inspired by the diversity of textures around us and especially fascinated by their dynamic interplay with light and shadow.
