Hello, my name is David. 
I'm a designer and engineer... I love creating things, both digital and physical.
Over the lockdown, I took it upon myself to dive into numerous home renovation projects and I quickly found myself obsessing over ways to improve our living environment. With a background in digital design and software engineering, I recognized that I had spent a good chunk of my career producing things that could only be experienced through a screen, keyboard, and mouse. As a result, I have thoroughly nurtured a burning desire to create something more physical and tangible that could be felt and held with my own two hands.

Around that time, there was a growing movement in the 3d printing world. Fused deposition modeling printers that were capable of producing prints in very fine detail, were becoming more affordable and available to the average hobbyist. After managing to acquire one, I pored over countless hours of courses and online videos determined to learn all about 3D parametric modeling. My primary goal was to use computer aided design software to design objects inspired by organic forms and whose designs can be printed, modified, and iterated upon efficiently and with ease from the comfort of a home office. 

Like all things related to design and engineering, I quickly realized that there were numerous constraints with the tools at hand that required creative problem solving: such as being able to maximize the strength and durability of an object, while minimizing it's weight, and at the same time not sacrificing its beauty and aesthetics. I am certainly no stranger to facing new challenges and having to learn new things. The difference here is that I am now living my dream of creating something for the physical world.

Both natural and constructed environments serve as endless sources for my creative inspiration.
I am continually inspired by the diversity of textures around us and especially fascinated by their dynamic interplay with light and shadow.
